JavaScript editor on a webpage

On my work we have a product that user can configure by overwrite som
functions and/or
setting som variable.

My boss thinks a should make a editor-windows so user don't have to
run a editor i bakground

The user is happy if a make a <AREA</AREATextfield that can save
and load but
i would like to add color handling and if possible som formatingstuff.

Any one that could point out what a should look att, webbpages, codes,
etc.
Anyting would bw great,
(The backend is using compiled CGI så Ajax solution is ok, not PHP
ASP .... )

Best regards
Anders

Dear Anders,

I think this would be a major undertaking, and, as you seem to have no
code to show us, I suppose it is over your capabilities.

Why you think compiled cgi is better at ajax than a serverside script
language, escapes me, as I think you are wrong in thinking that.

The advice is: Let your boss hire a professional programmer.

Dear Anders,

The reason for this was becurse i normaly write the
CGI stuff, eg backend of the server, and becurse this i was
after som advice and direction, i was not asking for some code,
But yes after i have written it i could show if some have use for it.

I am not, i have written PHP on other work, but the product today is
based
on C, mostly becurse it is based on an other product that is developt
i C
and therefor C is easy when access this library.

(And yes PHP and Ajax works great i have written stuff with this
before so..)

But now the language in my company is strict C, so life is not always
easy
when you are one in a big organisaion.

The advice is: Let your boss hire a professional programmer.
Hmm så my 9y as a developer i nothing becuse i don't normaly work with
JavaScript.

I think you can safely ignore Evertjan. in this case.

Check into JavScript RTE's.

TinyMCE is one: http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/

FCKeditor is another: http://www.fckeditor.net/

These pseudo-LIBs give one the ability to turn a TEXTAREA or something
similar into a Rich-Text Editor.

See here:
http://www.htmlarea.com/directory/We...ors/index.html

It has several examples. The two I mentioned however, have a free use
license. (Or however you word "doesn't cost anything.")
