Click event still firing after removing div element

2
Hello all!

I have trouble deleting completely some div elements when using

oldDiv.parentNode.removeChild(oldDiv)

Actually, the background image of the div element disappears but the click event on the div still works. I tried adding and removing events with "attachEvent" and "detachEvent" respectively but the event is still firing.

Any ideas? Regards and thanks.

oldDiv.parentNode.removeChild(oldDiv)

this removes oldDiv, it doesn't leave some ghost that fires events. Your event handler is being called by some other element or function- unless you somehow recreate the oldDiv and reattach the event handler to it....
