trying to clear textboxes in a user control

how do I access a method that will clear textboxes in a user control, from a btnClick event in another user control on the same page?

With javascript. I'm not an expert, but it should be something like this:

onClick="this.form.myTextArea1.value=''"
 

I'll move this to the javascript forum to see if someone there has a better explanation.
