simple cross browser key handler

Hi Does anyone have a simple function that captures a keystroke that
works cross browser? I just want to redirect a page when a user hits
esc... you'd think it would be easy!

Cheers,
Ciarán

About as easy as determining why anybody would think that a regular
person would think that pressing the Esc key would lead to navigation.
