Gaining control of address bar parameters in jsp page

52
hi,
im my jsp im dividing my page into 3 divisions, using div tag.basically im using tabs. so, on click of each tab, i want to store its id in a variable, because i need to use it later. how can i achieve that? how can i store the id in a variable?

Also, how can i delete the address bar parameters, because, as i navigate from 1 tab to the other, i do not want the previous parametrs to stay, i want to change the parameters. The problem is, as i click each tab, i am not able to gain control.
Please help

Do you want to store the id in a Java variable?

P.S Copied to Javascript forum.

You can define the parameters yourself for each link in your server-side language which renders the page.

If you're going to navigate from the page on clicking a tab, there's no point in storing the id in a variable, is there?

Perhaps it would be better if you post some code.
