replacing image in a page using ajax

I would like to replace image retriving from database on click button using ajax. can any one help me to do that?...

a page having 8 images and i would like to change all the image from new ones using ajax. please give me the answer.

Why do you need to use ajax

you can change an image by doing

document.getElementById("imgid").src = "newimage.jpg";
