That should go to the previous page in the history, see link.

Thanks for reply,

But my concern was is there any difference in working behavior of history.go(-1) function in IE6 and Firefox. Both are taking back to previous page but
What I am facing is different on both browser.
- On IE the previous page get reload fresh version of page from client history
- On Firefox previous page simply get display without any reload fresh version of page from client history .

Did faced any such issue ? Is this bug of IE or Firefox ?

I don't think the page should be reloaded unless you have set it as such (non-caching measures for example).

There is special parameter set for non-caching in IE.

When we submit the page 1 , page 2 is generating with error page .
On pressing OK button on page two return is going back on page 1

but on IE
the variable formSubmitted again reseting as False.
for testing I have used alert window also

where as on Firefox
variable remain set as it is with its last value . No alert window is coming up while displaying page 1 again.

If the page is not cached, it reloads the page. Remove the non-caching parameters to prevent the reload/refresh.
