List Previous Searches

Hello all,

I'm not a programmer but I do understand some of the basics etc.
I have been putting together a directory search site for my employer using php and all is going very well. I wanted to have a small section of the page titled 'My prior searches' where a hyperlinked list will show the users search history. When they click on one of their past search terms in this list then the info is sent to the search engine again showing the results. I know this is entirely possible with javascript/cookies but I just don't know enough to modify any of the copy/paste scripts I've found to suit my needs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Mark

I think you would actually need PHP to do this. I could be wrong lets see what some other experts can offer. Also, I changed the title of your thread to make it more descriptive.

Mark,
Honestly, save your money on that class. Especially if it is online. I've taken a class of that nature and it was really a joke/waste of time and money. There are some general links at the top of the forum that would be just as beneficial to learning as paying for a course. Unless you are seeking a degree and Javascript is a required course I would highly recommend not taking it, you can also learn a lot by going through the threads on this forum.
