printing from my website

1
I am new to web design. Visitors to my website can enter data which is saved in mysql table(s). I need to be able to print reports and give visitors the option to print on their side. I am under the impression that this is done using javascript but I am not sure. If my impression is correct, next step is how do I do that. A simple example can get me started.

I appreciate all the help here. Thanks in advance.
