Hit the wrong key on the last post.
Anyway I am trying to figure out what 'block' is?
This code is part of a drop down menu.
It is one of the possible values for the CSS display property.

Be careful when using the display property to hide and show elements -
not all browsers support CSS 2 fully and apply different default
values. To show an element, it is usually better to set the display
property to '' (empty string) rather than to block, inline, whatever.
It lets the browser set the element to its default rather than some
possibly unsupported value.
e.g. for table rows, IE wants 'block', Firefox (and other CSS 2
compliant browsers) want 'tableRow'. Setting display='' keeps them
all happy.
