Ajax based dynamic menu

Hi All,

I need to create a dynamic menu and tree using AJAX ,Struts and XML
(or some other medium to fetch data for tree formation).

Initially i have to draw the tree using the values from XML or other
data source then I need to drag and drop the tree contents and it has
to take effect in DB. Please tell me some open source projects to use
for my purpose.

Thanks

Google YUI. I'm pretty sure they have trees and you should be able to
integrate their connection object w/ trees.

There's really only one choice. The Ext library (used to be yui-ext as it was based on YUI foundation classes, but it's now based on jQuery or YUI). Here's one of the Tree examples:

Main page with link to download, docs, and many blog entries detailing the library's development and examples of usage: http://www.jackslocum.com/blog/index.php

User forum: http://www.yui-ext.com/forum/index.php

I've implemented a tree in my web app. With drag and dropp too. I build a tree by dragging available components into it. To submit to the server, the tree creates an XML representation of itself.

The lib is super-cool.

Cheers,

Animal
