javascript recursion in .js file?

1
I have a javascript footer (footer.js) on my home page at http://www.bridgeaholics.com. One of the items (Gurus) in the footer is currently an html link.

I want to make this Gurus item a drop down (actually it would drop UP, since the footer is at the bottom of the page) menu, where I could put many links, and the viewer would choose one from the menu.

However, the code I have for dropdown menu is also in javascript. I have not succeeded in being able to call recursively a second .js file from footer.js. Is this possible? Is there a workaround if not? How should I proceed? Thanks for any help!

Just call the javascript file within the page and use the function in footer.js.
