Hi, I am comparatively new to JavaScript and would like to know if database connectivity between JavaScript and MSSQL is possible? If so could someone provide me witha sample code.Thanks.

JavaScript is just a scripting language that runs inside your browser. It has no ability to connect to a database it self. You need a server side programing technology for this. Which one to use will depend on the OS of your server, the type of web/app server you use, the database being used, etc.

Since you need something simple, and I am guessing you do not have professional development tools you might want to look at JSP for this. You can Google for how to use it. You might want to look into the JSP Standard tools library since it will let you do basic DB access though HTML like tags.

Welcome to TheScripts.

Through AJAX, you can use Javascript which will call/receive the server response using a server-side language. The language (e.g. ASP, PHP, JSP, Coldfusion, etc.) can connect to an MSSQL database.

Read more about AJAX here.
