JavaScript query

Hi,

I do not know much about javascript. Basically I have a number of html pages located at my local disk. This is nothing related to client server concept. I want to search a string from all these locally placed HTML page contents and want to display the results in another HTML page. These HTML pages are placed in 3 different folder. The output should display the name of file and line containing the string (just like google search). We cannot use ASP/ActiveX as it a stand alone bunch of HTML files.

I guess its quite simple but I donot much about javascript.

Please suggest something.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for reply. But my problem is not solved yet.
Basically I have an SDK which includes say 10 APIs. Each API is described in a separate .html page. I have a search.html page. Now i want if I type any text in search field, it should search that string in 10 html pages and display the results. All the HTML pages and search.html is places locally on my machine in a folder.

Could you please suggest some solution. Its urgent for me.
Thanks,
Rama
