Adding Buttons or Links to the Menu Bar

Is it possible to open a new window and add a link or button to the
browser menu bar (or tool bar) that can execute javascript code when the
user clicks the link?

Any hints or links appreciated.

As part of the window decorations, no, you could however, fake your own buttonbar, and put
your button there, just stick a Div with some border, or a bgimage toolbar-look-alike.
