How to make simple animation on web

Hi friends,

I am very new here, could you please give me some suggestions? Is FLASH
the right technology? Or if there is any better solution?

Purpose - To generate multiple simple moving objects like a box on my
website that can move from left to right and up/down. The moving
objects have to be dynamically generated according to different
products and the sharps are a little bit different.

Other requirements - Better work in MS .NET envoirnment, but other
suggestions are also welcomed.

I am thinking to call a third party api (such as flash api) to
dynamically generate the picture or some file format and link on my
website.

Can anyone give me a suggestion on -

(1). Which technology is suitable or better?
(2). Where I can start?
(3). Where I can find out the tutorial or reference?
(4). Any detail suggestion?

Thanks a lot for all your help !

Happy coding !

Hi,

you are not wrong in javascript forum because with js you can do simple
animations on objects. If you want a simple thing you should use js
because it's a web standard. Examples (not browser compatible):
http://script.aculo.us
For myself I wrote "Run", which fades every CSS property you want from
point1 to point2 in a given time etc. Example: http://aka-fotos.de/web
(start animation).
For rotations and more complex fadings and 3d effects you should use
flash.

To decide, you should take 2 steps:
- Do you really need those effects because that's not what makes a
website good (is this quality?: http://derbauer.de )
- Which language do I need to implement this: js or flash

If you are interested in my Run object ask me again - I haven't
published it yet.
