How do you cover the other widgets with autocomplete/suggest?

I implemented the autocomplete/suggest for a text input, however the
suggest div table does not overlap the other widgets underneath my text
input. All it does is create space between my text input and the other
widgets to show the possible suggestions. Any ideas what I should use
to cover the other widgets?

Google suggest and newegg.com seem to be doing that successfully.

How can anyone help if you don't tell people:
a) what widget library?
b) where is a demo of it?
c) what browser are you testing with?

Cheers, Kev
