Hi all. I know this group is devoted to Javascript but I thought someone may
be able to answer a couple questions for me. First, is there a way to
customize the border of a Flash MX projector with Actionscript? By customize
I mean to remove the border and add my own with my own buttons. I know there
is software that will do it but they usually provide a gallery of border
skins to choose from. I thought Swish Studio would let me design my own
border skins? I want to design my own borders and add my own buttons that I
develope is Flash. Second, does anyone know of any good software or
tutorials on this subject?
Thanks all.

Sorry, but why on earth would you post this to a Javascript group -
where it is completely offtopic - instead of to alt.macromedia.flash?
You already know about the latter group, because you've posted to it
recently - and got replies.

First of all thank you for responding. I posted here for two reasons. First,
I wanted to get as much input as possible and second, actionscript derived
from Java. The two languages are very similar. So I thought Java programmers
would be able to give me more indept input.

First of all thank you for responding. I posted here for two reasons.
First, I wanted to get as much input as possible
That is a not acceptable reason for posting in the wrong NG,
"my reason is special inough to bend the rules".
and second,
actionscript derived from Java. The two languages are very similar. So
I thought Java programmers would be able to give me more indept input.
Java and Javascript have nothing in common but the name.
There are possibly no Java programmers at all using this NG.

I see your reasoning. But as the other respondent said,
Java<>Javascript :-)

Try in the macromedia group. I'm sure that group would be the best bet.

Both ActionScript and JavaScript derive from ECMAScript. There are other
implementations of the latter, too. Many programming languages are
syntactically similar, including Java and the C family (C, Objective-C,
C++, and C#), though they all differ in various ways.
The two languages are very similar. So I thought Java programmers

Though posters to this group should be familiar with the syntax of
ActionScript, they may not be familiar with the host environment.
ECMAScript only defines certain core features. Much of the work is
performed by interacting with host-defined objects and functions.

Please don't top-post to this group.
