Navigare nel fileSystem con JAVASCRIPT

ciao a tutti,
ho la necessita in un pagina jsp di navigare sul disco locale quindi di
poter reperire l'elenco delle cartelle e dei files contenuti in una
cartella ... partendo dalla root ...

qualcuno di voi sa come fare!?

I'm afraid that the security implemented in the browser will prevent
that.

io devo solo VISUALIZZARE cartelle e oggetti ... scrivendoli in HTML
come TAG di tipo IMG
....
