Div with tips and comments - fast rollover scripting methodology.

I need to script interactive DIV for displaying dynamically additional
content. The content of the DIV will be depended on position of cursor
(with onMouseOver events handled to other elements of app, maybe also
the X,Y cursor's value).

I thought about AJAX ,but sending request is too slow for quickly
moving cursor through the app's elements(which will change content of
mentioned above DIV). Am I right ? What technology will be suitable ?

All of your data will need to be in the file itself (rather than trying
to use AJAX to retrieve them from the server).
