Congruency

Ike
I have the first half (the hard half) of the congruency peice done, that is,
going from the original DB to the warehouse (mysql). The second half isn;t
much to do.

HOWEVER

The unforseen problem I ran into is this. Imagine the following structure:

ORIGINAL MySQL

TableA TableX

field j -------------------->field j
field k

Table B Table Y

field m-------------------->field m
field n field p
field q

The above is how it can presently work, and do so with more than one
"Original" DB and more, where the Original DBs can be any type of DB.
However. consider the following, common situation:

ORIGINAL MySQL

TableA TableX

field j -------------------->field j
field k--\
\
Table B \ Table Y
\
field m-------\------------->field m
field n \ field p
field q \
\---------->field k

Where fields in a record in a source table maps to different tables in the
target (and vice versa coming back from the MySQL warehouse to the Original
Databases).

So I am in the process of reworking the first half. The problem I have is
that Jack, and these customers, never let me get a half hour of congruent
thinkning on a fucking thing with their bullshit and nonsense, and any real
development, like this, is so damn uphill as a result. -Ralph
