Creating a simple invisible counter...

I'm currently trying to create an invisible counter that also keeps track of IP-addresses.
Any well elaborated counter-tutorial?

Unless it's for your own local use or limited to each user on their own machine (which I doubt), a counter will require server-side code and cannot be achieved with JavaScript alone.
