Text extraction

On an event, i have to extract the text from a web page on firefox and
pass it on to a new text file. Only the main text has to be extracted,
i.e., the advertisements, side navigation bars, etc have to be avoided.
Could someone help me out with some java script for this plz?

What event might that be?
A school exam?
Is it your own page, or someone elses?
Why only firefox?
Where do you want to store that page? On the client's HD?
Could someone help me out with some java script for this plz?

What have you done so far script-wize?
