updating page

Hi,

I have a form with several checkboxes (with numbers associated to
each). I need to update the sum of selected boxes. But the result
should be presented in "plaint text", not a text box nor textarea.

How can I do that? I have tried "outerText" but it didn't work.

The code should work on firefox and ie.

Before asking, one should read the newsgroup FAQ. That's in 4.15, but
read the whole document.

Thanks, and excuse me for posting a FAQ, but in the hurry...

I found the link to this newsgroup's FAQ on one (or more) signature
from other post, so I have solved the problem.
