i have an array data, like this

1234,4565,7890,3478

i use replace to replace "," to ";" for fitting into the data input

however, i choose record according to the "selected" checkbox, then the text
like this

1234,,,3478

how can i change 3 commas ",,," into only 1 single ";"?

Why not:

alert( "1234,,,34,7,8".replace(/,+/g,';') );
Not all browsers support RegExp objects as arguments to split (I seem to
remember old Safari is one).

The other one was the first that came up into my mind, anyway both work :)
