anyway to know the dimensions of the children inside <div>

let's say i have codes like this:
<form>
<div>
<input type="text" name="in1" size="10">
<input type="text" name="in2" size="100">
<!-- more inputs -->
</div>
<form>

can javascript calculate (and even re-arrange) how these "input"s (or
any other elements) locate?
