window.open(http://www.whatever.com/page.php?string=hello+there);

you'll need php in this case to retrieve the string. Then pass it to JS.

<?php
$my_string=$_GET['string'];
$js="<SCRIPT Language="Javascript">\n ";
$js.="window.alert(\"$my_string\");\n ";
$js.="<\/SCRIPT>\n ";
echo $js;
?>

OR HTML

<?php
$my_string=$_GET['string'];
?>

<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE><?php echo $my_string; ?></TITLE>
</HEAD>
<BODY>
Have a look at the title for this window.
</BODY>
</HTML>

Hope this helps,

Michel
