Safari requires reload for vertical scroll to work

Hey all. I've placed a DHTML vertical scroller on my site with code
copied from
http://simplythebest.net/scripts/DHT...script_59.html,
and it's functioning fine in all browsers but Safari for the Mac.

In Safari, if I empty the browser cache and then load my site,
www.andrehoth.com, I have to reload it once for the scrollers to work
(though the swap image for the scroller arrows functions immediately).

I'm no expert, but I've played around with as many variables as I could
find to no avail. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Andre

Given that the site gives you access to the author...

In any case, I suggest that you concern yourself with how your site
presents itself to users who choose not to enable JS.

I'm not sure what you're implying here; did I overstep some sort of
etiquette line I'm unaware of?

Wouldn't that rule out the functionality of just about every site that
has buttons or navbars? I wonder how many users (particularly in the
field of media production) have JS disabled...
Thanks,
Andre

Yes, this is not a support forum for code you copied from somewhere without
really understanding it (would you ask here then?). Since that the Web
site provides means to contact the author, it would be prudent if you
contacted _them_ first, because they will hopefully know what they did.
And maybe hopefully your query will make them aware that their code is
not really usable.

Okay, I see where you're coming from. I'll contact the original writer
of the code and see if I can get a response.

I've also begun changing my site to accomodate people without JS
enabled.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Andre

PS - If anybody has the desire to trouble shoot this code, you're still
welome to! : )
