how to connect javascript to excel

Hi,
i had connected excel sheet from a javascript page,but when the insertions and deletions are doing,in the browser it shows an error as:
This command is unavailable because the license to use this application has expired.
and when i debugged it,the error was found at:
excel_sheet.SaveAs(" path..... \infos.xls");

but insertions and deletions are happening though the error are popping.

what would be my error?

Hmm, what is giving off the expired license error message? is it excel when you are trying to access it, or is it a 3rd party module that you are using to get and manipulate the excel data?

I've never seen access to data directly from a javascript page, good to know that one can use js in such manner.

You can access/connect to Excel using ActiveX in IE only (not really JavaScript).

To the original problem: perhaps the date is incorrect on the computer, or indeed the license has expired.
