HowTo: Recover CLIENT-side information

Hi... first off... still a novice here,

I subscribe to a cable-ISP... no CGI, PERL, etc... I've built a webpage and
want to "gather info" from someone looking at my webpage. So far, I've
tried 2 Javascript methods...

1. built a "guestbook" form and used SEND MAIL... stupid thing asked
like 4-5 times "am I sure I want to send this"... most likely a
SPAM-prevention thingy but it's ugly and seems totally non-professional.

2. made another link to MAILTO... which calls up my Outlook and goes
from there... HOWEVER... I've some people, going to my website, who do NOT
have a local-based mailer... for instance... AOL, MSN, Yahoo, etc.

How can I get "user info" from a CLIENT-side JS... without boring the life
out of people (like in #1) or missing people (like in #2)???

Once I get this process solved... I want to be able to put up "Q&A"
prompts/checklists... store their input into my own JS email and send it
back to me. I really can't see this happening via #1 OR #2 because... if it
were me... I'd kill all the resulting popups/windows cause I didn't
(knowingly) start them.

HELP PLEASE!!!
Thanks in advance!

Get better hosting so you can have decent server logs and server side
scripting.

1) Do you want to "gather info" from people answers (so they go from
one screen to another answering your questions)? Or you want to collect
system info on the background (OS, browser etc.)?

2) Does your provider provides at least a mail form?

Hi...

I am looking for 2 things really... I'm trying to make my Fantasy Football
League "website" be more interactive

1. a "Suggestion Box" type (Guest form?) probably to send me email... but
some of my people are non-PC-based mailers... like AOL, MSN, Hotmail.

2. I also want to pop up their (16-player) roster and have them CHECK the 7
"starters for the week". I want to have those 7 names or numbers sent back
to me... email would be fine but would like a non-email solution so I could
learn a little more too.

As I said earlier... my ISP (earthlink) doesn't allow home users
CGI/PERL/etc...

Thanks for trying to help... I hope you can point me in right direction.
And I wouldn't mind if solution is some new "language/technique" I'd need to
learn either.
