Client's IP address retrival

Hi Group members !
I want to know about a method for detecting client's IP which is
running behind a proxy server.
Is there any possible way in Javascript to get the IP address of the
client's machine which is using proxy.

Would *you* like to have 2-5 seconds delay on each click before context
menu appears?

I would get crazy on the 3rd click. *Many many* users too.

Interface has to be as fast responsive as possible, even if the
interface initialization phase will get longer. This fact was proven by
blood (money) over the last years.

You need several minutes to load your menus? Load them. Just make sure
then later all menus will popup like Jack In The Box on the first
demand.

Otherwise, no.

No. The only IP address you can find out is the one that is making the
request to the server - and you can't find that out with JavaScript.

Probably not. but if you get yourself a real good lawyer you may be able
to get the info you want from the operators of the proxy on a case-by-case
basis. :^)

if you are wanting to locate the client for legal reasons you may do
better to relocate the server to a land where there are less restrictive
laws on who you can share what with.

They connect my pc to my server in my network. That's what they are used for ]:->

The purpose of a proxy server is to isolate the IP's of the private
network from the Internet... so, no.

Well, it's not possible to directly get the ip adress of the client behind the proxy indeed. But i think it is possible to use (nasty) cookies on the client machine to store its IP as any other information (session variable, visit count, etc) so you can retrieve it anytime. If cookies are activated in the client browser, of course.

pd: php-scripts dont get real ip behind an anonymous or high anonymous proxy , only transparent proxies.

No if the user is with a LAN behind a gateway or proxy. You only can get local ip 192.168.XX. but no the truly ip.
