html element focus from mfc application?

I have a program, which uses an editable web control. The problem is simply
how do I set focus to the <body> of the editable text from my mfc dialog,
without having to click on the control itself? The best I can manage is a
control that seems to have input focus, but doesn't have the caret, so typed
keys have an effect, but aren't displayed.

I've spent all day on this (since 7:15am)

I'm not familiar with MFC. Does it have something to do with JavaScript?
