How to define JS function?

Hi all:

Sorry for a dumb question, but how to define the following JS function?
Many thanks.
Olly

function checkForm()
{
var frmValid = true;
if(WebForm.FName.value == '') {frmValid = false}
if(WebForm.LName.value == '') {frmValid = false}
if(WebForm.Address.value == '') {frmValid = false}
if(WebForm.City.value == '') {frmValid = false}
if(WebForm.ProvinceState.value == '') {frmValid = false}
if(WebForm.PostalZip.value == '') {frmValid = false}
if(WebForm.OtherCountry.value == '') {frmValid = false}
if(WebForm.Phone.value == '') {frmValid = false}
if(WebForm.Email.value == '') {frmValid = false}

if(frmValid == false)
{
alert("Please fill in all required fields.");
}

return frmValid;
}

By reversing your logics (presumption of innocence): the form is OK
unless it's proven otherwise.

function checkForm() {
var ret = true; // The presumption of innocence
if (someCheck) {
ret = false;
}
else if (someOtherCheck) {
ret = false;
}
...
else {
}
return ret;
}

The use of the logical or ("||") is much more efficient, since the
"alert()" statement will be run as soon as one of the statements is
false. And be careful how you reference the form element, it should be
something like:

document.forms["Webform"]
function checkForm(){
var w=document.forms["Webform"];
if(
w.FName.value == '' ||
w.LName.value == '' ||
w.Address.value == '' ||
w.City.value == '' ||
w.ProvinceState.value == '' ||
w.PostalZip.value == '' ||
w.OtherCountry.value == '' ||
w.Phone.value == '' ||
w.Email.value == ''
)
{
alert("Please fill in all required fields.");
return false;
}
return true;
}

Thanks for the help, Mick - I made the changes you have suggested and
it worked OK (before Firefox just ignored my function while IE and
Safari accomodated it somehow).

VK - thank you for your input as well. I appreciated it.

Regards.
