[] in form's element's name

Hi all.

I need the form element to have name containing '[]' characters, eg. 'x[]'.
But I've got a problem with that because when I give it such name, I can not
call it by document.formName.x[], there appears the Javascript error. When I
change the name to 'x' everything works fine but I need that 'x[]' so much.
Is there any way to call the element with such name ?

Best regards,
ABS

Read the FAQ before posting. This question is answered in both the
comp.lang.javascript FAQ[1] and PHP resources (which is presumably why
you're asking this question.
