Help needed

I ran into an issue with Java Script. My requirement is that I have a
Webpage open and when i fetch results based on some search criteria
from the DB the results are shown in the next page. When I hit the
cancel button Instead of doing and history-1 it opens a new window
pointing back to the orginal webpage. now if I do a fetch based on the
same criteria and then hit on cancel I do not see any new windows
opening and it works as it should. Any suggestions on tackling this
issue?
