Bonjour,

Robert

Hello,

I'm working on an intranet application that has been up for many years
with 2500 users. Since last month, 1 user has a problem on a particular
page. The javascript error is "Class does not support Automation". This
error seems to happen when using the opener object. What's hidden behind
this error message ? Why is this machine the only one affected ?
For information, this machine is running WinNT 4.00.1381
Internet Explorer version is 6.0.2800.1106
We have many machines with this configuration...
Clues ? Thanks in advance for your help...

Here is one old thread where someone had the same error message and a
change of code helped remedy that:
<http://groups-beta.google.com/group/comp.lang.javascript/browse_frm/thread/80204ca1fc748fbf/a7757ca69db32937?q=internet+explorer+javascript+cl ass+does+not+support+automation&_done=%2Fgroups%3F as_q%3Dinternet+explorer+javascript+class+does+not +support+automation%26safe%3Dimages%26lr%3D%26hl%3 Den%26&_doneTitle=Back+to+Search&&d#a7757ca69db329 37>
If that doesn't help then you need to show us your code to enable us to
tell more.

Hi !

Thanks a lot for these pages. They helped me a lot.
I re-registered the following DLLs, and everything was OK !
msscript.ocx
dispex.dll
vbscript.dll
scrrun.dll
urlmon.dll

Hey guys,

Thank you for the solution. I was going to reinstall windows within an
hour. As a last resort I went to google... and found this thread.
Reregistering those libs fixed that stupid opener error.
