What does this "onfocus" value do?

Don
What does the onfocus value of "this.select()" do in the following <input...> tag?

<input type=text name="img" size=20 onfocus="this.select()" value="http://" tabindex=7>

Thanks,
Don

Put it in a test page, test it and see.

It will select all the text in the input.
Thanks,
Don
