cascading menus with scrollbars

is it possible to have cascading menus like:
http://www.cracky.net/JAVA/Navigatio...ding-menu.html
With scrollbars added, so you can only see a few options at a time?
On some of my options I have to many to display, without it looking bad.

The only thing I've seen to do this is applets.

I couldn't say. All I see are thin, green vertical lines when I hover over
the menu text.

Do not use the script on that page. To say it's badly written would be an
understatement. The fact that I can't see it using a modern browser is
also a very bad sign.

With a well-written system, it might be possible, but with a quick test on
a menu I'm writing, I don't think it would be that easy.

You're probably trying to cram too much information into them. Deep menus
are hard to navigate, and the ability to use them is a more significant
factor than whether it looks nice or not.
