Safari (Mac) close()

The following code works in I.E. (PC) but not Safari (Mac)

window.opener=self;
window.close();

What code will close the page when it runs in Safari?

Hopefully none. What you have used looks like an attempt
to use a security bug in some browsers that allows to close
the current window even if not openened with client-side
scripting.
