<applet ... onload="Alert('Hi');">

Nothing. The applet does what it is supposed to do but onload never fires.
Any suggestions what may be the problem here? Thanks.

There is no problem. It 's just that the "onload" attribute is supported on
the body, images, framesets and one or two other elements, but not applets,
so the whole thing is respectfully ignored by the browser.
Also, alert() is all lowercase.

The "applet" element does not have an "onload" attribute.
Besides, it is is deprecated in HTML 4.01 in favor of the
"object" element.
