<form name="search" action="..." method="post">

<input type="text" value="search term" name="query"
onEnter="if (this.value=='search term') this.value='';">

<input type="button" value=" Blah! "
onClick="document.forms['search'].query.value='blah!';">

<input type="submit" value=" Search! ">

</form>

Hope this helps,
Vincent
