Image in popup

I am new to this group and have searched for a script which will do
what I want in a website but as there are so many messages perhaps
someone here can help?

I want to be able to open a re sizable centered popup from a text link
in a web page, with the text preferably within a <td>. This will
initially just contain a .gif or.jpg but should if possible be capable
of containing text also.

I have a help function that popups help stuff that could be modified to
do what you want.
