history in a variable

Hi to all.
I have this problem.
I need to check what is machine/address from which I arrived in a html
page.
That is I'd like to store in a variable the result of history.go(-1)
url as a String and parse it in order to get machine:
http://machine1/bla/bla/index.html
and in case of machine1 I have to redirect to url1
otherwise redirect to url2.
Anyone can help me to code a jsp or other that get this ?

Thank you very much.

document.referrer returns the calling URL.
