Javascript doesn't work across proxy

Sorry if this isn't exactly the right NG for this, but I thought you
guys would know better than anyone else.

I have 2 computers networked. The internet connection is dial-up, and
I'm using ezProxy to share the connection. Both computers are Win98,
and both have IE6.0.

The main PC works perfectly, but the second PC's browser doesn't
recognize Javascript at all! I've gone through every setting
imaginable, and haven't found any reference to Javascript that was
incorrect.

Anybody have an ideas?

TIA,

Mike

Grab a copy of wfetch:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[LN];284285

and see if the JavaScript code actually comes through the browser. If
so, then it's a browser issue on the 2nd PC (check Tools--Internet
Options--Security--Custom Level, make sure Active Scripting is
enabled). If it doesn't come through, then it's an issue with ezProxy.
I doubt this-- I couldn't find anything about ezProxy filtering
JavaScript, but I could be wrong.

I have quite often (as have probably many of you) come across HTML forms with irritating bits of Javascript attached. The last straw on this particular camel's back was a large form I was asked to complete in connection with attendance at a seminar. After spending more than 15 minutes on it, I clicked on the submit button - and nothing...

First of all, this is not a programming question. I'm a user, not programming in JavaScript. I'm not, however, a novice user or even a power user - I certainly know programming intimately as well as computer hardware, configuration, etc... down to the lowest level (e.g. BIOS, assembly language, etc). Anyway, I've obviously got something...

Hi geniuses (or is that genii, or genies) The challenge is as above really. I have a page with an iframe in it, and need to call a JS function in the *parent* page, *from* inside the iframe. (It's for Google Maps, but I won't bore you with the complexities of that, as it doesn't affect the question). Mochas kudos to anyone able to...

Javascripters: I have a page with an iframe inside. Let's say the iframe looks like this: <script src="/javascripts/prototype.js" type="text/javascript" /> .... <iframe id='grinder' src='sample.html' > </iframe> That prototype.js gives us goodies like $(). And sample.html looks a little

Javascripters: I have an outer page and an inner iframe. The outer page calculates some javascript, and wants the inner frame to run it. The inner frame should hit a page on the same (private) web server, so this is not a cross-site scripting attack. But I would prefer not to taint the target page with any extra logic to do this. (I will if...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention.
