Using Regular Expressions (JavaScript 1.2/JScript 3+) :

String.prototyp e.trimLeft =
return this.replace(/^\s+/,'');
String.prototyp e.trimRight =
return this.replace(/\s+$/,'');
String.prototyp e.trim =
return this.replace(/^\s+|\s+$/g,'');
