I was studying a code , while i found following line

onclick="Javasc ript: $$('div.ka_msgb _formActivate a')[0].fireEvent('cli ck');"

Can anybody explain me what is $$ mean and what is fireEvent and what probably this onclick must be doing?

hi ...

that looks like that the code you studied uses an ajax-framework like prototype.js? have a look at the includes and when you know what framework is used, then you may have a look at its documentation and find out what the call you showed really does. however it looks like selecting an element and attach an eventhandler to it ... it is done through a framework to have simple cross-browser-support for such tasks ... therefore: using a framework is good ;) but you have to know what it does ... so you have to know the framework and its methods ...

kind regards

Hello! Here I have two classes these are called Handle and Body and a main. You have the class definition below. Some basic information. In the Handle class is there a pointer to the Body. Each Body object contains one primitive datatype int. The Body instance is created in the constructor for Handle. In main I instansiate some Handle object and use the STL function push_front to push these object into the list.

With the body tag calling out 'window onload', a function with a 'window.open' fails at the 'window.open' line. If I cut out the body tag, the function executes as normal. At first I thought it was the entire function failing, but I tested with alerts and found that it was only the 'window.open' that fails to execute. The function is being called by a link, and I suspected some problem with the body alink/vlink but after cutting that out...

Hello, I am looking for a cross-browser way (Firefox 1+, IE 5.5+) to have my Javascript function execute from the BODY's "onload" method, but if there is already an onload method defined, I would like mine to run immediately after it. So in the code below, what JS would i need to add to my "myfile.inc" page so that I could guarantee this behavior? <!-- main page --> <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript">

Hello all, I need another set of eyes cause it just isn't working, no matter how identical I make it. The initRotator function works when called by itself, but when adding another function, only the "other function" works, not the initRotator function. Here's some examples of what I've tried 1st Example using the 2 functions on body tag: <head> <script src="css/dw_rotator.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script...

Is it possible to add a function call to the onUnload event handler from an external js file, or can this only be done via the body tag? In any case, I presume there can only exist one onUnload event handler, which can naturally include any number of function calls. I have instances of html pages, with an existing onUnload event handlers and those without. I'd like to cover both instances, if possible, so that if there is an

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
