Form/Post Data into child Window?

How do I pass POST form data into a child window? (I'm OK with passing the
data in the url GET-style, but I prefer a POST for a number of reasons).

Thanks, all.

By this do you mean submit a form to a target window? If that's the
case, and the window has a name, simply ensure that your form has a
target=nameOfCh ildWindow attribute and the results of submitting the
form will go to that child window.

<form method=post
action="http://my.favorite.dom ain/my/favorite/page.php"
target=childWin dowName>
<input type=submit name=bSubmit value='Submit me'>
</form>

Hello everyone, I am pretty much newbie to ASP so please bear with me as I explain my problem. I currently have a main form which displays data queried from a SQL database. From that main page I have a hyperlink which opens a child window and allows edits to the data displayed on the parent form. As the child form is submitted, it is updating the database, then it refreshes the parent page and closes itself. That all works properly,...

In my application I need a way to distiguish between the following events: 1. When a user closes an MDI child window. 2. When the user closes the MDI parent window which subsequently closes the MDI child window. My application does certain logic when the user actually closes the MDI child form by clicking the "X" in the upper right hand. My application, however, should not execute this logic if the user closes the MDI parent. I...

VS.NET 2002/VB Is it possible to retrieve HTML form variables that are hidden input types using Request.QueryString() and/or Request.Form()? I have tried various ways of using those, but to no avail. My HTML form method is set to POST, and I thought I had read somewhere that this could be done. If it is not possible, is there any way to retrieve HTML form variables into my .aspx page?

Hi this is related to a previous post, hopefully just a bit clearer description o the problem. I have a parent form that opens a new form (child form) while still leaving the parent form open. Although the child form has a close button (with java script) if the user navigates the parent form to another form the child form is still open. Just wondering if there is a way to close the child form when the user navigates away with the parent...

Help please. I am trying to autofill a form text field from a select-box lookup. I have no problem doing this if the select-box is part of the form but because there are 5 possible select boxes for them to choose from and because of the very large number of options in each select box, to save form loading time, I want to put the look-up select boxes on separate (pop-up) pages. (I prefer them not to be hidden divs on the same page) ...

It would be helpful if I could attach a graphics file to this posting that would help explain what it is I'm trying to achieve...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
