A harddisk has no IP address!
Do you mean address of media center, of external RAID-Array-device or other device that contains a harddisk?
You can get only IP-address from something that has a network card.
If you want to access the hard disk from another computer then you must first login to the computer's OS (via FTP, telnet, RCP, network share etc.) and then you can access its harddisk by device name.
