Dynamic-Link Library (DLL) is Microsoft's implementation of the shared library concept.
DLLs are implemented and compiled using Microsoft technology and you are developing using Java technology. So, you need a way to bridge the two so that your Java application can interact with the DLL.
I have never done this myself but have always been curious about how to do it because people keep asking me about this.
I did a bit of research on the topic and I found you need to use something called
JNI (Java Native Interface) to make that bridge between the two technologies.
