How do I scroll a div up or down about 500px with the click of an up or down button.

P: 1
I am very new at javascript (well...new at all web-building) so bear with me if this is basic, but I simply want to have some text inside a div where the reader can see the first few paragraphs of text, then can click the "view 5 more tips" or essentially the scroll down button to see another chunk of text, and so on. So this is a small part of the entire page, and I want it to be a teaser-text kind of display, or rather this is the way my client (a.k.a...by husband) wants it.

I'm assuming this will use the ScrollDiv feature...but I have no idea what's what when it comes to that function. Most of what I find online applies the ScrollDiv function to scrolling all the way to the bottom of the div or all the way to the top.

Essentially I want to do the same thing as ScrollBy, but within a div rather than within the entire window.

Can someone help me?

I am very new also. keep this in mind with your responses! lol
thanks so much for being patient
